Baisse des tarifs de téléphonie pour bientôt

Post by fadilnet on Thu May 01, 2008 7:54 am

Source: http://www.orange.mu/kinews/dossiers/techno/198931/baisse-des-tarifs-de-telephonie-pour-bientot.html

--------------------------
Sure, the lowering of prices is most welcome BUT it did prevent Orange from launching its FTTH service @ a much lower price 'coz it's not competitive enough. we definitely need to tase every member of this organisation.

Are you satisfied with the upcoming scheme "un régime de coûts de compensation du déficit des services d’accès" ?

According to Le Matinal... interconnection fee is going from Rs 1.25 to 0.38/min(Mobile to fixed)
Mobile to International - price down by Rs 1.60
Fixed to International - price down by Rs 2.12

"un régime de coûts de compensation du déficit des services d’accès"
WTF is that? Suspect
A min price?? confused

& WTF is FTTH doing here? Sad
According to Wikipedia, FTTH means Fibre to the Home - a fibre optic cable is connected to your HOME.
- Is Orange doing any digging to install fibre optic cables? - NO!
- Have Orange connected any home or business premises by fibre? - NO!
- Is there any mention of Orange doing such work? - NO!
- Have Orange publicly stated that they are implementing FTTH? -NO! (They said they will ONLY IF UCL does so...)
- Have any of the papers hinted that Orange is thinking of FTTH? - NO!
So where is the F question about Orange "LAUNCHING" FTTH? scratch

What you are talking about is FTTN! Sad (Get your words right next time)
Fibre to the node aka connecting your region network relays ("centrales") by Fibre Optic. (more here)
I really have no idea to what extent work has been done on that... except that ADSL would be faster & cheaper when it's going to go active.
But Orange won't launch it coz SAFE is already overloaded! The last thing they'd want is a massive boost of ADSL users.
So what they've done instead is implementing a BS FUP so as to restrict the traffic usage, while keeping the network in safe waters for the time being, while waiting for EASSY. & they can't even invest into more international bandwidth (fibre links to the rest of the world projects) coz FT will just veto it (like they vetoed MT's expansion plans in Mozambique & Madagascar) Sad

I don't live in the towns, so i don't know what's going on around there... & i don't anyone who can confirm me the above... Neutral

In any case, if it's only doing it in the towns, then it's more BS than ever! Sad

Its logic to start from the towns first. Most offices are there. And most ADSL users also I must admit.
